JPMorgan’s Atmos profile is governance-heavy, not “green finance”
The curated estimate for JPM puts governance well above environment. A bank can look respectable on a blended ESG number while the E pillar is only mid-table. That is an Atmos estimate, not a licensed rating, and not advice.
| Pillar | Atmos curated estimate (0–100) |
|---|---|
| Environmental | 55 |
| Social | 72 |
| Governance | 80 |
| Simple average | 69 |
| Band on that average | A (55–69) |
Source: ExternalESGService curated profile for JPM, inspected 14 September 2026. Simple average (55+72+80)/3 = 69. Bank of America (E54/S70/G78) and Goldman Sachs (E52/S68/G79) in the same table share the shape: G leads E. That is how this model treats large US banks, not a ranking of which you should own.
What a portfolio composite will do
If your broker screenshot is heavy banks, Atmos’s book-level E bar will usually sit below G. Changing pillar weights in Settings changes the composite; it does not change the underlying estimates. Why vendor ratings disagree.
