Apple vs Microsoft: ESG comparison in Atmos
Both names have curated Atmos profiles (not industry-model fallbacks). On every pillar, the Microsoft estimate is slightly higher. That is a description of our table, not a verdict on which stock you should own.
| Apple (AAPL) | Microsoft (MSFT) | |
|---|---|---|
| Environmental | 82 | 85 |
| Social | 76 | 80 |
| Governance | 84 | 88 |
| Simple average | 81 | 84 |
| Band on that average | AA | AA |

Source: curated profiles in Atmos ExternalESGService, inspected 14 September 2026. Simple average is (E+S+G)/3, the same fast composite helper the app uses for curated tickers. The Free tier compare view shows two tickers; Pro allows more. Other data vendors will not match these numbers.
How to read a 3-point gap
81 vs 84 on a 0–100 estimate is a small gap. Both land in the AA band (70–84). If you change pillar weights toward Environment, the gap stays similar because both E scores are already high. This is why Atmos shows pillars, not just a trophy number.
Do this in the app
The in-app Compare tab is the interactive version of this table, including source badges. Import a screenshot if AAPL or MSFT already sit in your broker app. Tesla is a sharper pillar split if you want a contrast case.
